The 2026 Curriculum to Careers Conference Marks a Powerful and Successful Debut

The Curriculum to Careers STEM Conference, launched by WOG Community Development Corporation (WOGCDC) under Bishop Eric Warren Davis, marked a powerful and forward-thinking debut in Columbia, South Carolina. Over three days, the initiative successfully brought together educators from the Caribbean and underserved communities to confront a shared reality: talent is everywhere, but access is not.

More than a traditional conference, the event established the foundation for an international STEM pipeline. From formal recognition at the South Carolina Statehouse to immersive, hands-on experiences at the ICAN Innovation Center, attendees engaged directly with a reimagined model of education rooted in experiential learning, emerging technology, and real-world application.

Participants explored critical gaps in current education systems while witnessing tangible solutions in action—from VR-based instruction and robotics training to direct exposure to advanced manufacturing at HAHN Automation and creative industries at Compass Studios. These experiences underscored a central message: aligning education with industry is no longer optional—it is urgent.

Through strategic partnerships with global tech leaders and the expansion of ICAN Clubs, WOGCDC demonstrated a scalable vision that connects students to opportunity regardless of geography. The conference did not simply highlight challenges; it delivered a working blueprint for change.

In every sense, the Curriculum to Careers Conference proved to be a resounding success—positioning Columbia as an emerging hub for innovation and establishing a bold, inclusive pathway from classroom learning to global careers.
